Exercise 2.3: Focus

Called on Jasmine again for this exercise.

The brief called for a head shot portrait against a simple back ground.

For this image I used my 28-70mm 3.5-5.6 zoom lens.

Setting the lens to 70mm and f5.6 I was able sufficiently Defoe is the background to make the subject stand out from the background. I would rather have more depth of field and have been looking into an 85mm 1.4 lens for future portraits.

I find the back ground works well with the subject whilst the grey wall gives enough of a break from the green to keep the background interesting and emphasis the lack of focus.

I would have preferred to have the eye a little more to the right, more on the grid view and would normally crop this image to reflect that preference.
